A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of hanging out at Mullein & Sparrow. Their studio is in Bushwick, and as you might guess with a body care brand, their space smells amazing. The line was created by Anit Hora, who after building a career as an esthetician, found a gap in the beauty market. Anit branched out on her own to create M&S, an organic (and cruetly-free) line of beauty and body products based out of New York City. Given her expertise and background in natural healing, it's no surprise that I was floored by the range of oils and balms as I tested them out.
Above are some shots I took in their gorgeous studio, and some of the potions I picked out to bring home. Currently, one of my favorites is the coffee scrub Body Exfoliant. I'm sure you've seen the coffee scrubs all over Instagram, so I wondered what might be different about the M&S formula. The scrub itself is a blend of just the absolute essentials: coffee, shea butter, coconut oil, and citrus, and leaves my skin feeling oh-so-amazing. It's especially handy right now to fight winter dryness.
Another favorite is the Rose & Geranium Face Mist, which I also use as a light perfume! The scent is so clean and wonderful. I carry it in my bag in case I need a refresher throughout the day. The thing I love about M&S products is that they are multi-use powerhouse blends. For instance, the Rose Blossom Body Oil also doubles as a light scent for me as well.
