Eva-NYC Hair Care

Lately I've been experimenting with my hair style, as my bangs have grown out much too long and I also chopped off a decent length. I've been loving the way a flat iron transforms my look from bed-head to sleek and chic. Granted, a flat iron isn't anything new, but for someone as low maintenance as me, I've never formed a habit of spending loads of time on styling my hair. Eva NYC, a Brooklyn based brand, sent a generous hair care package (thank you!) and I've been using their goodies for a few weeks now. I've fallen in love with their line of salon-quality products, so I'm sharing a few of my favorites today!

Healthy Heat Ceramic Styling Iron

At the very first use I was blown away by this flat iron. Firstly, it's got major style points and I dig the galaxy print. Second, I have very thick hair that is semi-coarse, and I've bought flat irons before that simply did not straighten my hair! However, this tool goes up to 450 degrees and heats up quickly. It takes no time at all for me to achieve a sleek and straight look. I will usually turn it up to about 75% of its heat capacity for longer pieces, and use a little less heat to straighten my bangs. Shop it here.

Freshen Up Dry Shampoo

I've been a long-time fan of dry shampoo. Eva-NYC's formula smells AMAZING and doesn't leave any residue behind. Dry shampoo is great for those mornings when I don't have a lot of time to get ready, or simple feel lazy, haha. If I straighten my hair, I can use dry shampoo to prolong the style instead of having to wash my hair and straighten it all over again. I recently found this article from Eva-NYC that highlights other uses for dry shampoo, Did you know you can also use it as a room spray, to prep your hair for curls, and also as a "sneaker saver?" Dope. Shop the shampoo here. (There is also an accompanying dry conditioner!!)

Therapy Session Hair Mask

This mask is very unique. Just like the shampoo, it smells amazing. It doesn't contain any nasty stuff like parabens, artificial color, or sulfates! Instead of using this mask on a weekly basis and letting it sit for about 10-15 minutes at a time, I use it every time I wash my hair just like a normal conditioner. My hair always feels instantly softer and moisturized, and I've felt that it helps with frizziness too. The moment this mask touches my strands it is like an instant detangler. Shop it here.
