Film Diary - Not Your Fancy Brunch

I see your fancy brunch but not your Tuesday night ramen dinner. I see your Bloody Mary but not the $4 bottle of whiskey you stash in your purse for a party. Seriously... do you ONLY eat cupcakes and macarons? Food photos on Instagram seem like social currency that you're having a great time... while taking pictures of food. Put down your phone and pick up your fork. Instant sharing and instant gratification by way of food photo is a vapid way to waste time at a table full of people.

Just for fun, here's an unfiltered look at some meals I shared with friends over the last several weeks, shot on my disposables from Greenport to Detroit to Los Angeles. My food photos get trapped on film and shoved to the bottom of my bag. When I process the photos I can recount a savory meal and sweet memory, some funny conversation or a cheap champagne cork busting a light bulb. #nofoodphotos
