The Williamsburg Bridge connects two of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC, Williamsburg and the Lower East Side. Just a quick 20 minute walk takes you over, with the city skyline and river as your backdrop.
My go-to pit stop for a coffee break is Cafeteria La Mejor in Bushwick. Even if the cafe wasn’t steps away from my apartment, I’d likely make the trek pretty much anywhere for their Cafe con Leche. It is rich and buttery, the perfect hot drink on a cold day. If you’ve never tried a savory cuppa you are truly missing out!
In NYC we New Yorkers brunch hard. At week’s end, the perfect way to simultaneously wind down and get ready to go out is by stepping into one of my favorite brunch spots, Lodge. Inside, you feel like you’re in a log cabin, it’s cozy as can be. A late brunch bordering on dinner is my usual time to fuel up on breakfast foods in the afternoon. Plus, they have a mimosa special that’s hard to resist.
