Film Diary | Hamtramck Disneyland

Hamtramck Disneyland lives in an alleyway and is an art installation built on two neighboring garages. It was a work that artist Dmytro Szylak started in 1992 and finished in 1999. The installation features found objects as well as hand crafted items, all carefully placed into a system of colorful chaos.

I went to visit the site the day I was running around and photographing street art and ruins. It was a refreshing change to the otherwise desolate appearance of the rest of the city. It's a wacky little piece of art, a hodgepodge of childhood memories, Elvis, christmas lights.. You can read more about it here.
